8 Steps for my dearest Reverts

Assalamu Alikum

This article of mine will be for one who accepted Islam from their hearts and Changed their lifestyle just for sake of Allah. Alhamdulliah Allah Guided you to the perfect path.May Allah accept our faiths and admit us in Jannah insha allah. Today I am here to write a simple article for one who was protected from the hell fire. Alhamdullilah.

1. Practice Islam as much as you can

The Prophet Muhammad said, «He who loves my Sunnah has loved me, and he who loves me will be with me in Paradise» (Tirmidhi) .
As a new Muslim, you will have trouble keeping up with prayers every day, fasting during Ramadan, and the many other practices in this religion. Keeping up with your devotional practices is something that will strengthen your faith immensely. Read the Qur’an whenever possible. Find a collection of hadith and read it often. You will start to feel a connection to Allah (swt) and you will become used to Islam as a religion and a way of life.

2. Find a teacher

The Prophet Muhammad said, «For him who follows a path for seeking knowledge, Allah will ease for him the path to Paradise» (Muslim).
Finding a teacher to bounce ideas off of is a great way to learn your deen . This will also help you have a real grounding in the Islamic way of life .

3. Respect your parents

The Prophet Muhammad said, «Heaven lies under the feet of your mother» (Ahmad, Nasa’i).

Keeping up a good relationship with your family is essential.Might be your parents are not muslims but give them good respect , love them and take care of them.Help them and spend time with them. But make sure not to do anything against Islam the way of life . Try to avoid bringing up or taking part in controversial subjects regarding your former religion.

4.  Learn Arabic language the language of Qurabn

{Indeed, We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur’an that you might understand} [Yusuf:2}

Start by learning the alphabet and connecting letters together. Sit on that for a while and eventually you will be able to follow along in the Qur’an if you listen to a recitation on your computer or MP3 player. You will start to recognize words.Look for a person who can make you learn arabic.

5. Maintain your Identity

{O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted} [Al Hujurat:13].

Cover what you are supposed to cover.Eat those which are permitted. Make sure you are avoiding things that are prohibited.Still keep enjoying your life on the right track.

6. Find friends who can guide you and love everyone for sake of Allah

Find Muslim friends who can help you to go closer to Allah, because good friends are only one who guide you to the right path; and avoid one who pulls you toward disasters. And love anyone for sake of Allah alone as
our Prophet Muhammad said, «On the Day of Resurrection Allah Almighty will proclaim: “Where are those who have mutual love for My Glory’s sake? Today I shall shelter them in My shade where there is no shade but Mine» (Muslim).

7. Avoid Loneliness

The Prophet Muhammad said, «Islam began as something strange and will revert to being strange as it began, so give glad tidings to the strangers» (Muslim).
The best thing we can do to fight the feeling of loneliness is to spend as much time as possible with good company.Try not to lock yourself away in your apartment to avoid the world. This will just causedeep depression and can lead to searching haram (unlawful).

8. Do not despair

The Prophet Muhammad said, «So know that victory is with patience, and relief is with distress and that with hardship comes ease» .
Being a convert to Islam, you will face a lot of tribulations. There is not anything that you cannot overcome though, and never despair in Allah (swt).Allah (swt) guided to you to Islam, you searched for the answer and you found it. Be happy and constantly remind yourself of the blessings in your life. There are a lot of good things that will happen to you and you are on the straight road to Jannah (paradise).

8 Things to Strengthen the Husband-Wife Relationship in Islam

  1. GOOD ATTITUDE
  2. A Muslim must always have a positive attitude toward life. We say, “Alhamdulillah” (Praise be to Allah) for whatever He gives us (or doesn’t give us).

  3. HELP
  4. Our Prophet (peace be upon him) stressed the importance of men helping their wives and Allah tells us the importance of women being mates and helpers to their husbands. This is a real “win-win” situation, if we just follow it.

  5. TRUST
  6. Muslims, men and women are ordered to be trustworthy and follow the example of our prophet (peace be upon him) as the “Trustworthy”.

  7. RESPECT
  8. You get respect, when you give respect. This is mandatory for all Muslims toward all people, how much more toward the spouse?

  9. JOY
  10. Our prophet (peace be upon him) used to entertain his wife Aysha (peace be upon her) and she used to play and race with him. She said, “I used to out-run him, but then when I got heavy he used to outrun me”. He told us to play with our wives and have some fun.

  11. FORGIVENESS
  12. Clearly, this is one of the most important aspects of Islam. Whoever does not forgive – will not be forgiven. This comes from Allah, Himself. We must learn to forgive each others for a good relationship.

  13. TIME
  14. Spend time together. Go for walks. Take a bus ride. Visit a friend or someone who is ill (you get big rewards for that). Fast together on Mondays & Thursdays if you can. Make hajj – this is a great way to get a “new start” on life.

  15. WORSHIP
  16. Our prophet, peace be upon him, used to lead his wife in salat, even though he lived connected to the mosque. He told us not to make our homes like grave yards. We should offer some of our sunnah prayers at home.

Why it is great to Fast on the day of Ashoora ?

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to be very keen to make sure he fasted on the day of ‘Ashoora’ because of its great status.
It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: I never saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) so keen to make sure he fasted any day and preferring it over another except this day, the day of ‘Ashoora’, and this month – meaning Ramadaan. Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 1867.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) came to Madeenah and saw the Jews fasting on the day of ‘Ashoora’. He said, “What is this?” They said, “This is a good day, this is the day when Allaah saved the Children of Israel from their enemy and Moosa fasted on this day.” He said, “We are closer to Moosa than you.” So he fasted on this day and told the people to fast. (Bukhaari (1865) from Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him)

Fasting the day of ‘Ashoora’ does expiate for the past year, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Fasting the day of ‘Arafah I hope Allaah will expiate thereby for the year before it and the year after it, and fasting the day of ‘Ashoora’ I hope Allaah will expiate thereby for the year that came before it.” Narrated by Muslim, 1162. This is by the bounty that Allaah bestows upon us, whereby fasting one day expiates for the sins of a whole year. And Allaah is the Owner of great bounty.
The expiation of sins that is achieved by fasting ‘Ashoora’ refers to minor sins; with regard to major sins, they need separate repentance.

It is permissible to fast the day of ‘Ashoora’ on its own, but it is better to fast the day before it or the day after it. This is the Sunnah that is proven from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), as he said, “If I am still alive next year, I will certainly fast the ninth.” Narrated by Muslim, 1134.
