Taqwa ; The Ultimate Solution by Ustadh Wahaj Tarin

This is one of the best reminder on piety(Taqwa).Followings are quranic verses and collections on Taqwa.

O children of Adam, We have bestowed upon you clothing to conceal your private parts and as adornment. But the clothing of righteousness(Taqwa) - that is best. That is from the signs of Allah that perhaps they will remember.(7:26)

Ibn 'Umar said, "Whoever has taqwa of his Lord and maintains ties of kinship, his term of life will be prolonged, his wealth will be abundant, and his family will love him."(Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 59)

Ibn 'Abbas said, "What do you reckon to be nobility? Allah has made nobility clear. The noblest of you in the sight of Allah is the one with the greatest taqwa. What do you reckon as lineage? The best of you in lineage is the best of you in character."(Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 899)

They will not even smell the fragrance of Paradise !!

These days I am tired hearing people speak about socialization, fashions and culture with modernization when we speak about Islam. I want to tell them that Islam is complete and is for everyone, every time and every place until the day of judgement.
Allah says :
This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favour upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion (5:3)

After this verse
1. It is crystal clear there could be no innovation in religion in the name of culture and modernism ; when the rulings are clear.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever does an action that is not in accordance with this matter of ours (Islam) will have it rejected.” (Narrated by al-Bukhari, 2697; Muslim, 1718).

2. We are obliged to believe Rasullulah (prophet of Allah) have completed his mission or else will be among the wrongdoers.

And as Muslims we are supposed to take the proof from two sources that are Quran and Sunnah not from the society when it is against these sources.
Allah says: “And whatsoever the Messenger (Muhammad ) gives you, take it; and whatsoever he forbids you, abstain (from it)”[al-Hashr 59:7]

Today I am here to mention some authentic hadith against the people who dye their hair black and say "we need to go with society, don't you see that scholar who coloured his hair black." I would say "you will be asked about your deeds, not his!"

Image result for black dye hair

Following are authentic hadith:

Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) who said: “The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘There will be a people at the end of time who will dye their hair black like the crops of pigeons; they will not even smell the fragrance of Paradise.’”(Reported by Muslim, al-Nisaa’i and Ibn Maajah Ahmad, Abu Dawood )

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas, who attributed it to the Prophet [SAW], said:"Some people will dye their hair black like the breasts of pigeons at the end of time, but they will not even smell the fragrance of Paradise."(Sunan an-Nasa'i 5075)
In another narration

Jabir (May Allah be pleased with him) said:Abu Quhafah, father of Abu Bakr (May Allah be pleased with them) was presented to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) on the day of the conquest of Makkah and his head and beard were snow white. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Change it (i.e., dye it and avoid black colour)."[Muslim].

From the above hadithes it is clear that It is not permitted for a man to dye his beard or hair black because of the reports which command us to avoid that and forbid us to do itIt is permitted to dye the hair with henna or any other substance that will give it a reddish or yellowish colour because it is reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to dye his hair with yellow. Muslim reported that Abu Bakr dyed his hair with henna and katam and that ‘Umar used to dye his hair with henna. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) also said, “The best things with which you can change this grey hair are henna and katam.”

Thirty Ayat that will intercede on behalf of its reciter !

A sister in Islam narrated a story which I have no witness about its truthfulness, she informed me about the death of a sister whose Qabr (grave) smelled like fragrances of flowers, her husband was asked about her good deeds and he informed people that his wife never missed a night without reciting surah al Mulk. After hearing this particular story I was interested in this particular surah and wanted to know more about it, so these are the hadiths I found regarding the virtue of Surah al Mulk.

Imam Ahmad recorded from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that Allah’s Messenger (sallAllahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said,

“Verily, there is a chapter in the Qur'an which contains thirty Ayat that will intercede on behalf of its reciter until he is forgiven. (It is): 'Blessed be He in Whose Hand is the dominion( Tabaarak Alathi bi yadihi’l-mulk).’”

[This Hadith was collected by At-Tirmidhi and the four Sunan Compilers. At-Tirmidhi said concerning it, “This is a Hasan Hadith.”]

In another narration :It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“A soorah from the Qur’aan containing thirty verses will intercede for a man so that he will be forgiven. It is the soorah Tabaarak Alathi bi yadihi’l-mulk [i.e., Soorat al-Mulk].”
Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 2891; Abu Dawood, 1400; Ibn Maajah, 3786.(Hasan)

In another narration :It was narrated that ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Mas’ood said: Whoever reads Tabaarak allaahi bi yadihi’l-mulk [i.e., Soorat al-Mulk] every night, Allaah will protect him from the torment of the grave. At the time of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) we used to call it al-maani’ah (that which protects). In the Book of Allaah it is a soorah which, whoever recites it every night has done very well.

Narrated by al-Nasaa’i, 6/179; classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Targheeb wa’l-Tarheeb, 1475.

These were the authentic hadeeths i could find among many hadeeths regarding this surah, So let us try our best to add this surah in our day to day life.

Did you give your zakat al-fitr??

What is zakat al-fitr ? (From Sunnah)

Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) enjoined zakaat al-fitr as a purification for the fasting person from idle and obscene speech, and to feed the poor. Whoever gives it before the prayer(eid), it is zakaat al-fitr, and whoever gives it after the prayer(eid), it is ordinary charity. This was narrated by Abu Dawood and classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood.

When should it be paid?

Zakat al-fitr becomes obligatory when the sun sets on the last day of Ramadan, and must be paid before the Eid prayer.

It is permissible to pay it two or three days before that, if need be.

Who should  paid and what is to be paid? (From Sunnah)

In al-Saheehayn it is narrated that Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: At the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) we used to give one saa’ of food, or one saa’ of dates, or one saa’ of barley, or one saa’ of raisins.

This is indicated by the report narrated by Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) enjoined zakaat al-fitr, a saa‘ of dates or a saa‘ of barley, on behalf of free and slave, male and female, young and old, among the Muslims.
Narrated by al-Bukhaari (1503), Muslim (984).

being a Muslim is a condition of zakat al-fitr being obligatory, and that it is not required of the disbeliever on his own behalf.

Let's consider these during Congregational Prayer ( jama"ah) .....

I thought of writing this article just to remind my blog readers about a sunnah which could be called forgotten or ignored by some of us while performed by some others. And theses ahaahadeeth are so important as we need to apply theses sunnah in our daily life as we are supposed to pray five times a day...

It was narrated from ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Umar that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Make your rows straight, stand shoulder to shoulder and close the gaps, and do not resist your brothers’ hands. Do not leave any gaps for the Shaytaan. Whoever complete a row, Allaah will reward him, and whoever breaksa row, Allaah will forsake him.
(Abu Dawood, 666; al-Nasaa’i, 819.)

It was narrated that al-Nu’maan ibn Basheer said: “The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) turned to face the people and said, ‘Straighten your rows,’ three times, ‘for by Allaah either you straighten your rows or Allaah will create division among your hearts.’ And I saw men standing shoulder to shoulder, knee to knee, ankle to ankle.” Narrated by Abu Dawood, 662

These ahaadeeth clearly indicate the importance of making the rows straight, which is part of the perfection of congregation  prayer; they indicate that people should not stand back (from the row) or in front of (the row), and that they should stand shoulder to shoulder, foot to foot and knee to knee with their neighbours and it is sunnah which would be rewarded by Allah immensely!

And i would love to include this hadeeth too : the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “When I command you to do something, do as much of it as you can.” [Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 7288; Muslim, 1227].

Five special reasons that make fasting in Ramadhan so important and Special!

1.Allaah revealed the Qur’aan in this month

“The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Qur’aan, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance and the criterion (between right and wrong)…”[al-Baqarah 2:185]

2. Presence of night of power ( Laylat al-Qadr )in this month, which is better than a thousand months.

Indeed, We sent the Qur'an down during the Night of Decree. And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree? The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months. The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter.Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.[al-Qadar 97:1-5]

Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “There has come to you Ramadaan, a blessed month which Allaah has enjoined you to fast, during which the gates of heaven are opened and the gates of Hell are closed, and the rebellious devils are chained up. In it there is a night which is better than a thousand months, and whoever is deprived of its goodness is indeed deprived.”

Narrated by al-Nasaa’i, 2106; Ahmad, 8769. classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Targheeb, 999.

And Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever spends Laylat al-Qadr in prayer out of faith and in the hope of reward, will be forgiven his previous sins.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 1910; Muslim, 760
.

3.forgiveness of former sins
Abu Hurayrah according to which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever fasts Ramadaan out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.”  [al-Bukhaari and Muslim]

Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever spends the nights of Ramadaan in prayer out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.”[al-Bukhaari and Muslim]
Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever spends Laylat al-Qadr in prayer out of faith and in the hope of reward, will be forgiven his previous sins.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 1910; Muslim, 760.

4. Allaah opens the gates of Paradise and closes the gates of Hell, and chains up the devils.

Abu Hurayrah who said that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “When Ramadaan comes, the gates of Paradise are opened and the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained up.” [al-Bukhaari and Muslim]

5.Every night Allaah has people whom He redeems from the Fire

Abu Umaamah that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “At every breaking of the fast, Allaah has people whom He redeems.”  was classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Targheeb, 987.

Aren't we ready to have a more closer relationship with our master (10 Amazing tips)?

Last week when I was discussing about love of Allah, the sister whom I was discussing told me about the 10 fact sheikh ibn Qayyim said that bring a slave closer to his master, she said me to find further about that particular thing as she said few of them, After reading those important facts I thought it will be useful to share such amazing tips with my dearest blog readers.

Ibn Qayyim (May Allah have mercy on him) said that there are ten things that bring about the love of Allah.

1) Recitation of the Qur’ an with reflection and with understanding of its meanings.

2) Seeking closeness to Allah by performing voluntary deeds after having performed obligatory ones, for that leads one to the highest levels of love.

3) Remembering Allah during every situation – with one’s time, heart and deeds, one’s share of that love is to the degree of one’s share in that remembrance.

4) Preferring what He loves to what you love when your desires are strong.

5) Allowing your heart to reflect on His Names and Attributes.

6) Reflecting on His many favors and blessings, both the apparent ones and hidden ones, for that leads to His love.

7) Having your heart softened as it is worshipping Allah.

8) Being alone with Him in worship when He descends during the last third of the night. And this means to invoke Him, to recite His Speech, to stand with all sincerity and with good manners and with good submission, and then to end that with repentance and with seeking His forgiveness.

9) Sitting with those who are truthful in their love of Allah.

10) Staying away from all that creates barriers between the heart and Allah.

May Allah help all of us who strive for his pleasure to get his complete mercy and love.We ask Allah to grant us His love, and the love of those who love Him and the love of those actions which bring us closer to him

Dice an Islamic view !

Praise be to Allah the creator of the universe!

Today my article will be about using dice( in Islamic view). As you know we use dice for many games or tosses, and a friend of mine asked me "are we suppose to use dice ?" which made me ponder and think a little and research on that topic, at first I thought that question was not appropriate later I found the answer for that question which I am going to share! These were the hadith I found which terrified me!

It was narrated by Muslim (2260), Abu Dawood (4939), Ibn Maajah (3763) and Ahmad, from Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever plays with dice, it is as if he were dipping his hand in the flesh and blood of a pig.”
An-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
The scholars said: This hadith was quoted as evidence by ash-Shaafa‘i and others for the prohibition on playing with dice.

Al-Bukhaari also narrated in al-Adab al-Mufrad (1274) from ‘Aa’ishah that she heard that the people of a household who were living in a property that she owned had some dice, so she sent word to them saying: If you do not throw them out, I will throw you out of my property. And she denounced them for that.Classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Adab al-Mufrad (no. 1274)

And he narrated (1277) that ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr ibn al-‘Aas said: The one who plays with dice for the purpose of gambling is like the one who eats the flesh of a pig, and the one who plays with them without gambling is like the one who dips his hand in the blood of a pig.Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Adab al-Mufrad (no. 1277).

From the above Hadiths I feel it is Prohibited and is better to avoid in any form. Jazakallahu khair. I wrote the article just to enjoin good and forbid evil...

“Let there arise out of you a group of people inviting to all that is good (Islam), enjoining Al-Ma‘roof (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam orders one to do) and forbidding Al-Munkar (polytheism and disbelief and all that Islam has forbidden). And it is they who are the successful” [Aal ‘Imraan 3:104]

Allah knows the best.
