What do you really know about Ayathul kursi?? Why is it so Special??

Assalamu Alaikum Warahmathullahi wa barakathuhu

My dearest readers today I chose this topic to enlighten us with importance of Ayathul Kursi in our day-to-day life. As many of us, recite this Ayah without even knowing the reasons and the meaning. We as believers should know why it is so important, when is the best time to recite and we also need to understand the meaning of this verse and ponder upon this verse. Most of us except those blessed with guidance of Allah are merely traditional reciters; this article might enlighten us with its importance, remind and benefit the believers about this great verse of the Quran using Hadeeth of Prophet Muhammad (Sal).

Ayatul Kursi is considered one of the most significant verses in the Quran, emphasizing Allah's attributes and supreme authority. It is often recited for protection, spiritual strength, and as a means of drawing closer to Allah based on the Quranic text and various Hadith.

Ayat al-Kursi is the greatest verse

Narrated 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud:
"Allah has not created in the heavens nor in the earth what is more magnificent than Ayat Al-Kursi." Sufyan said: "Because Ayat Al-Kursi is the Speech of Allah, and Allah's Speech is greater than Allah's creation of the heavens and the earth." Source Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2919

Ubayy ibn Ka’b reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “O Abu Mundhir, do you know which verse in the Book of Allah with you is greatest?” I recited the Verse of the Throne, “Allah, there is no God but Him, the Living, the Sustainer,” (2:255). The Prophet struck me on the chest, saying, “By Allah, O Abu Mundhir, rejoice in this knowledge!”

It was narrated from Ibn ‘Umar that ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab went out one day to some people who had prepared a meal. He said, “Who among you can tell me which is the greatest ayah in the Quran?” Ibn Mas’ud said, “You are asking one who knows. I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say, ‘The greatest ayah in the Quran is ‘Allah! La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists…’ [al-Baqarah 2:255 – interpretation of the meaning].”

Muhammad bin Sirin narrated that Abu Huraira said, "Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) put me in charge of the Zakat of Ramadan (i.e. Zakat-ul-Fitr). Someone came to me and started scooping some of the foodstuff of (Zakat) with both hands. I caught him and told him that I would take him to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)." Then Abu Huraira told the whole narration and added "He (i.e. the thief) said, 'Whenever you go to your bed, recite the Verse of "Al-Kursi" (2.255) for then a guardian from Allah will be guarding you, and Satan will not approach you till dawn.' " On that the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "He told you the truth, though he is a liar, and he (the thief) himself was the Satan."

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, entrusted me to protect the charity of Ramadan. Someone came to me and began taking from the food. I took hold of him, and I said, “I will certainly take you to the Messenger of Allah!” Abu Huraira told the story to the Prophet, saying, “The man told me that when I go to bed, I should recite the Verse of the Throne. Allah will appoint a protector over me, and no devil will come near me until morning.” The Prophet said, “He told you the truth, although he is a liar. That was Satan.”

Whoever says this when he rises in the morning will be protected from jinns until he retires in the evening, and whoever says it when retiring in the evening will be protected from them until he rises in the morning. It was reported by Al-Hakim 1 / 562, Al-Albani graded it as authentic in Sahihut-Targhib wat-Tarhib 1/273, and traces it to An-Nasa'i and At-Tabarani. He says that At-Tabarani's chain of transmission is reliable (Jayyid).
