The Grand Night
Mercy, Forgiveness, and Eternal Reward
The Month of Revelation
Allah revealed the Quran in the most blessed month; the month of Ramadan, the month in which the Quran was sent down. On the most blessed night, the Grand night: Laylatul Qadr.
It is reported from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
The Gift of Forgiveness
This one night surpasses the value of 30,000 nights. The sincere believer, who worries about neglect in life, patiently awaits this onset. The Prophet (ﷺ) promised:
Qiyam-ul-Layl
It is recommended to make a long prayer during these nights. It means being permitted to be among the sincere worshippers.
Supplication
Prophet (ﷺ) taught Aisha (RA): "Allahumma innaka `afuwwun tuhibbul `afwa fa`fu `annee."
Seeking the Night
The Prophet (ﷺ) would exert more effort in worship during the last ten days than any other time.
Life is about opportunities. Consider Abu Dah Daah (RA). He traded his entire garden for a single palm tree promised in Jannah to help an orphan.
He ran home shouting: "Leave the garden! We’ve sold it to Allah!" He even took dates out of his children's hands, saying, "We've sold it to Allah!"
He gained a Jannah whose expanse is the heavens and the earth.
Estimating Allah Correctly
Everything we have belongs to Him. Have you ever tried to count stars? "If you count the Blessings of Allah, never will you be able to count them." (Ibrahim 14:34)
