The Virtue of the Season
While many Muslims focus their energy on the last ten nights of Ramadan, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) explicitly stated that the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah are the most virtuous days of the entire year. It is a time when the heavens are open for mercy, and the rewards for every small deed are multiplied beyond our imagination.

Why are these days so heavy in the scales?
Scholars note that these ten days are significant because they include the **Day of Arafah**, the day Allah perfected the religion of Islam. It is the day when millions of pilgrims stand on the plains of Arafah, seeking forgiveness. For those at home, the spiritual energy is just as accessible.
Furthermore, the Prophet (saw) said: "There is no deed that is more virtuous than deeds in these ten days." Even when asked about Jihad—the pinnacle of sacrifice—he replied that unless a person loses their life and wealth for Allah, the deeds done in these ten days are greater.
The 10-Day Spiritual Roadmap
Fasting (Days 1 to 9)
Try to fast all nine days if your health permits. If not, prioritize the 9th of Dhul Hijjah (Arafah). Fasting on this day wipes away the sins of the previous year and the coming year.
Dhikr and Takbir
The air should be filled with the praise of Allah. Increase your Tasbih (SubhanAllah), Tahmid (Alhamdulillah), and Takbir (Allahu Akbar).

The Night Prayer (Tahajjud)
Just as we strive for Laylatul Qadr in Ramadan, these ten nights offer a similar opportunity. Wake up 20 minutes before Fajr and ask Allah for your deepest needs.
The Sacrifice (Qurbani)
Remember the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (as). If you are performing Qurbani, abstain from cutting your hair or nails from the moment the moon of Dhul Hijjah is sighted until your animal is sacrificed.
Tips for Non-Pilgrims (At Home)
- **Automate Charity:** Give a small amount every day during the ten days so you don't miss the reward.
- **Quran Challenge:** Aim to complete a portion of the Quran or read the translation of Surah Al-Hajj.
- **Family Reminders:** Use your platform to remind others—this counts as *Sadaqah Jariyah*.
