Let's connect to the Book of Allah in this blessed month!!

The blessed month of Ramadan is finally here and Alhamdulillah, we’ve been given another opportunity to fast, worship Allah (SWT), and spend our days becoming better Muslims. One of the most important aspects of Ramadan is connecting with the Quran by understanding its message. As  Allah mentioned that the Quran was revealed in this blessed month of Ramadhan.

Ramaḍân is the month in which the Quran was revealed as a guide for humanity with clear proofs of guidance and the decisive authority. Baqarah ayah 185

So lets try our best to connect with the book of Allah, here are few tips to Connect to The Quran. This a reminder for me first of all and then to you.

Feel that Quran is the Source of  guidance.
Allah says in his book:

ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبُ لَا رَيْبَ ۛ فِيهِ ۛ هُدًۭى لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ
“This is the book of which there is no doubt, a guidance for those mindful of Allah” Surah Baqarah, Ayah 2

‘Umar ibn Al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Messenger of Allah, prayers and peace of Allah be upon him, has said, “By this book (the Qur’an), Allah would exalt (to a high status) some peoples and degrade others.” [Reported by Muslim 817]

Recite as much as You can

Try to complete at least one khatmah/khatam of the Qur’ān. However, if you managed to complete one last year, aim to increase your khatmah by one and complete two this year. If You are a beginner try as much as you can. Tip You may keep a target of 20 pages a day, divide the number of pages to recite as convenient to you.

Ibn al-Qayyim, the great scholar, wrote, “There is nothing more beneficial for the heart than reading the Quran with contemplation and reflection.”

Hope the reward for your recitation from Allah.

When you recite expect the reward from  Allah alone, and feel that you are in the presence of the noble angels.

Aisha, may Allah be pleased with him her, narrated that the Messenger of Allah, prayers and peace of Allah be upon him, has said, “Whoever recites the Quran and masters it by heart, will be with the noble righteous scribes (in Heaven). Moreover, whoever recites the Quran and stutters with it, and it is difficult for him, will have a double reward.” [Reported by Muslim 798]

Learn the Quran and teach others.

We find most Muslims are traditional reciters of Quran, many of us end up reciting Quran for the sake of reciting the Quran during Ramadhan. The Quran is a guiding force in our lives, it brings us closer to Allah which will allow us to develop a meaningful relationship with Allah (SWT) and as a result, lead us to become better Muslims. And also we are rewarded for every letters and so many rewards and benefits by learning the Quran. This Quran will even intercede for us on the Day of Judgement. It has been sent down to us so we can understand the purpose of our existence and why we were created.
Pick a sūrah or a collection of sūrahs, and then read or listen to the tafsīr (explanation) of these sūrahs. Focus on them in this month. Then we may teach others to be rewarded.

“This is a blessed Book which We have revealed to you, so you may reflect upon its verses, and the people of of reason may be mindful” Surah Sad, Ayah 29

‘Uthman ibn ‘Affân, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Messenger of Allah, prayers and peace of Allah be upon him, has said, “The best among you is the one who learns the Quran and then teaches it.” [Reported by Al-Bukhari 5027]

Ponder and reflect on the Qur’ān (tadabbur).

Recitation of the Qur’ān is not enough. Allah (subḥānahū wa ta‘ālā) tells us:

كِتَـٰبٌ أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ إِلَيْكَ مُبَـٰرَكٌۭ لِّيَدَّبَّرُوٓا۟ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْأَلْبَـٰبِ ٢٩
“This is a blessed Book which We revealed to you, that they may reflect upon its verses, and those with understanding may take heed.” (38:29)

Reflecting upon the Qur’ān entails thinking over the meaning and the purpose behind an ayah : what is Allah (subḥānahū wa ta‘ālā) asking me to do here? Deep thinking and reflection allow us to develop a deeper connection with the Qur’ān and will help us to act upon the Qur’ān In sha Allah.

Listen to Quran

Find one recitation of the Qur’an and do your best to listen to it all the way through. Listening to Quran will improving your tajwid, aiding your memorization and providing you with the chance to absorb the beauty of the Qur’ān.

Memorize as much as you can.

Whoever memorizes Qur’aan and acts upon it, Allah will reward him and honor him greatly for that, so that he will rise in status in Paradise to a level commensurate with what he memorized of the Book of Allah.

Al-Tirmidhi (2914) and Abu Dawood (1464) narrated from ‘Abd-Allah ibn ‘Amr that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “It will be said to the companion of the Qur’aan: Recite and rise in status, recite as you used to recite in the world, for your status will be at the last verse that you recite.” This hadeeth was classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in al-Silsilah al-Saheehah, 5/218, no. 2240,
